You speak of the vesuvius but you could also include the Lexington in there.
The Princeton, another Concordia class carrier we see in WC4, also had Project personell on board, but it was a Confed carrier, just like the Lexington of Vesuvius. Also, if Liquid consideres the Vesuvius to have been a BL carrier, than he must consider the St Hellens to have been a BW carrier. After all, Eisen who defected to the BW, helped destroy the Vesuvius with that ship.
If I were to take over Texas, then UNOFFICIALLY take over Mississippi, and all of my men were there, all of my weapons, all of my orders were taken as the gospel, then it would be MY STATE. Just as the vesuvius was a BLACK LANCE carrier.
That's very cute, did you make that up all by yourself? Not all of their men, nor all of their weapons we inside the Vesuvius...

The Lexingtion, a Confed carrier, first served as a mobile base of operations untill it was disabeled by Blair, the BL also had personel onboard the Princeton (before the BW managed to take her over) which made it no less of a Confed carrier.

And then there was the Vesuvius, the ship that Tolwyn, one of the highest ranking flag officer in Confed brought from Sol, the ship on which a large part of the crew was still Confed, and believedd that they were fighting rebels and pirates.

In conclusion, if you think the Vesuvius was a BL ship, than the Concordia would also have to be a BL ship, but it obviously wasn't...

Axius was occipied by Black Lance forces. Their base of operations was there. They owned it. Period.
Bullshit. Had Confed known that someone built a starbase INSIDE their space, they'd have gone after it, and destroyed it. Basicly, the only protection they had there were minefields spread around that system, but all they could do was slow down an enemy by forcing him to go around them...

Umm... Earthworm, Confed DID know about Axius. Who do you think built it, Eisen's elves? :)

They certainly didn't know that there was a huge starbase that was used by an evil Confed Space Marshal to start a war between them and the BW.:)
This argument started out fine, but now it's retarded. I'm bailing out
Good, because you're wrong, and you just can't deal with...

Yeah, I'd like to see you fly a Dev through some of those Gauntlet-style sim missions... You may get some kills, but you ain't coming out without your hull integrity in at least the yellow. And if you get more kills ina Dev than a Vamp you are either full of crap or you're one of those pilots who goes in slamming the stick around without an ounce of finesse. But my main point is no lone Dev is gonna survive an encounter with multiple enemies that are faster and more maneuverable. When you have wingmen as distractions? Sure, but not alone. So Knight, go set your game on Ace(a respectable difficulty level without being insane and going to nightmare) then fly a Dev into the sim mission when you're going up against twenty something Dralthis per nav point plus a corvette and we'll see how much you don't look at maneuverability.

Easy Trigger, just 'cause I disagree, I dont' want to argue. Finesseing the stick around is OK, if you're on a quiet patrol, but if you wnat to do your job, sometimes some slamming is what it takes. What I ment was in a mission fight, not a damn gauntlet sim. There's a big difference between getting more kills with a Dev when you have wingman and an escort, and getting more kills in a Vamp with an escort. I do better w/a Dev in a normal mission situation, if you can't, that's your problem. I'm not saying I can take down a carrier full of Dralthis or Devil Aces (though I have my share of their kills in a Dev), but under normal circumstances, a Dev kicks up more kills than a Vamp w/me at the controls. And BTW, usually I'm on Ace or above difficulty setting.

That's true. Sometimes, particularly in Wing2, I like to take out a bigass bomber and just pound on some cats for awhile, but on the whole, I think it's just more fun to maneuver onto people's tails.

But then again... I bailed out of this argument like, four posts ago, so I'll shut up.

They certainly did know there was a huge starbase, because they had built it. Now, naturally they didn't know what was going on inside the base, because black ops bases have admittance on a strictly invite-only basis, but they did know the place existed.

Maniac say:"....being there, done that, there is nothing on Axius..."
I dont know, I could have been a old Special Ops base, that was deactivated....But I cant see the BL being able to build a station that size in only 2 years...So ConFed could know about it or not.

Axius system was used for the black projects as mentioned by Wilford. So, let's say that Confed built it for whatever reason 10/15 years before WC4. Now let's look at some of the things we see in the novels about the black projects... Things like Tolwyn not knowing about many of them, despite being the most famous Admiral in the navy (and even before the Behemoth when his reputation wasn't shattered), things like the President of Confed not knowing about many of those projects.

Now, yes Confed knew about that base, I'll give you that, but what people knew about it? People from the black projects connected to the BL in one way or another? Politicians that could gain something from the new war?

Confed built the base, and they could have built it in the 4 years inbetween the end of the war and the BL affair, and we never know when Maniac was there, maybe he was there right after the claw went boom, as such that is plenty of time for there to be new facilities there.

Er... Earthworm, who said that Tolwyn didn't know about most of those projects? I believe it was Tolwyn... the same Tolwyn who told you that GE was shut down long before he got wind of it. The same Tolwyn who appeared to fervently believe that the Border Worlds are "waging an undeclared war against us"...
For some reason, I don't think Tolwyn has all that much credibility when he says he didn't know about something.

Quite true but if you remeber the Bellusarus group, they could have had a few projects that Tolwyn never knew about before he shut them down

Axius could have been there for a LONG time before the BL got ahold of it. It might have been just a plain old outpost that was used as a coverup while the new base was built just out of sensor range and discreetly deactivated. But I highly doubt it was built in a small timeframe.

we don't know when Maniac went to axius, it could have been 10 or 15 years before the BL incident giving plenty of time to make the starbase

Yes the Axius system have been there for a long time, several millions years in fact, I dont even belive that he had been in another place as well.
I dont know about the Axius starbase, one thing is divert resources and "cover" weapons projects, another one is Build a starbase that size in few years, Like I said before It could have been a old special ops base that was deacivated after the war.

Or it could have been built in 10-15 years, as I have said time and again, we dont know when Maniac was there

I love shooting Dralthis down in my Devastator using the plasma cannon.

6D damage!

oh, and Stormfire! Yeah!

Geez! This thread is five months old for cryin out loud!

How many pages did you have to go back to find this one?
