Wing Commander Saga: Battlegroup Serpent is a Freespace 2 modification. This game takes place in 2670. The player takes on the role of the young pilot Katarina "Cat" Thorn.
Stationed onboard an old Durango-class carrier, you patrol the Confederation's border. The ship with which you'll be sent on patrols isn't exactly fitted well. However, you shouldn't have
any problems beating the first missions, since the difficulty level rises slowly and shouldn't be too hard even for rookie pilots at the beginning. With Joystick or Keyboard, the controls of
your fighter is very easy but still conveys a believable feeling during flight. Like in Freespace 2, you can decide between multiple camera views.
During flight, you maintain contact with other members of your squadron, who inform you in time when a hostile bird is on your six. Especially attractive is ths structure of the missions:
You don't have to complete every goal 100%, but an enemy radar, which you've missed during a mission, can cause lots of trouble during the next assignment. In the first third of the
campaign, your assignments will be rather eas, since you've got to learn how to master control of your ship. All vehicles look excellent.
Both the graphics and the soundtrack, which consists of 40 great music tracks, will contribute a lot to the atmosphere.

ABOUT Wing Commander Saga: Awakening of the Claw
================================================
* Awakening of the claw is set shortly after the events of Wing Commander 4. The systems of Toshi, Fargo 7, Tarson, and Iceni are heavy in Pirate activity, and the BWS Silver Star, a modifed Durango, and her escorts are sent to quell the Pirates and patrol the systems for any other activity. You play Lieutenant Davis, a relatively new pilot for the Border Worlds. As Lieutenant Davis, you meet new friends, battle enemies of old as well as new ones, and are immersed into a thick plot of mystery and blood lust. Though a mini-campaign, Awakening of the Claw promises to deliver action packed missions, a good storyline, and memorable characters.
The campaign features ships from Wing Commander 1-4.
There are 2 more:
Hostile Frontier (The Landreich Campaign)
Operation Serpent (A Campaign taking place in the WC4 timeframe)
But I think Jdawg is refering himself to the WCS-campaign called Battlegroup Serpent. This is what I found:

And there also was Awakening of the Claw:

Here are also many older screenshots:

And here's a trailer for WC Saga: Battlegroup Serpent:
Yeah, there are some people who build additional stuff for Saga.
Here's a list as far as I can remember.
WCS+ project: improvements of WCS. - Status: working on it
WCS Deutsch project: German translation. - Status: working on it
Mod+Campaign: Last Line of Defense - Status: working on it, I think.
Mod+Campaign: Enigma 2666 - On halt IIRC. May get finished at some point, but I don't know.
Mod+Campaign: "Sivar's Hand" - My Kilrathi mod. I'm still on it but it goes slow.
I also made a customizable training mission for WCS. It is called ASSM and you can get it here on the forums. It will also be included in WCS+ / WCS Deutsch
I'm pretty sure I forgot some. But IIRC none were released yet.
That WC4 stuff was the original plan for WCS, which was changed at some point to become the WCS you know. There was nothing released and almost none of the assets used made it into the final game. That was looong long ago.
My ASSM training mission allows you to select fighters and capital ships to fight with you or against you. Some sort of customizable simulator.
As for my mod: Nothing playable yet, sorry. Although the missions are almost complete, I lack other resources (working on the writing, and I need some art, like a player portrait).
I think I still got my story of a kilrathi merchant somewhere lying around but I never got very far with that either. Just a simple character layout and some plotpoints I think.
yeah those two did any of those missions ever come out, or are they anywhere we can play them? it seemed they were far in development
really is there anyway to play that bc wc4 is my fav in the timeline or is there anyway somebody could finish it at all. id help anyway I canActually I still have the assets including mission files stored on my HDD. The WC 4 campaign was ~80% done when we pulled the plug back in 2004 and switched all of our efforts to the WC3 timeline laying the foundation for the Prologue and essentially the Darkest Dawn campaigns.
Hey, we could shame each other into completing our respective mods!
Remember the stuff you did for Sivar's Hand? Do some more and I'll see if I can help you with yours.
I was doing a kilrathi ready-room wasn't I? I think that was on my hard drive that crashed. Will see if I had a backup. But could just start over.
