Loose Steltek when starting Righteous Fire

Hi, I'm about to start play RF for the billionth time, this time I thought it might be fun to start off where I left off with Privateer. The only thing that bugs me is that I still have the steltek gun and the alien artifact. Is there any way to get rid of those?

Music in Privateer 1 with AWE64

Just for fun I tried installing Privateer 2 last night, and it accepted the General Midi setting without a glith, so I think the problem is with privateer 1. I guess there's not much that can be done about that. Just wanted to let you guys know all your help had some results.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately I already had that in place, so that can't be the problem.

John thanks for all your efforts, I wish I could say everything works perfectly right now, but it doesn't. I do feel I've made a few big step though, so thanks again.

Music in Privateer 1 with AWE64

uhmm... well I can't find that file anywhere on my drive! Maybe it's just for SB Live! I think for my card I should use aweutil, but as I stated before, that only gives an error message.

    FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

Reading your config I was surprised to see you using Apinit.com for you sound driver. If I use this driver for the legacy chip on my SB128PCI Privateer just stall on boot-up. I've already posted about this problem, and nobody seemed to know how to solve this problem. Would you do me a great...

    Privateer

Hi, Just my two cents ... but now that you edited the .cfg files you no longer need a DOS driver for your CD-Rom player. The only thing the cd is used for is for the big .tre files, but you now have them on your HD, and by editing the .cfg files Privateer now know where to find them on your...

    Sound problem with Privateer

Hi, Changing it to: DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE RAM 16384 /I=B000-B7FF should give you enough mem. I asume you are using LOADHIGH to store your drivers in higher mem. [Edited by Darth Roel on 03-19-2001 at 06:41]

My sound drivers make Privateer stall

I kinda was afraid of that, just hoping someone had encountered the same problem and found drivers that work. I'm looking into getting an old SB 16 that I can use to get some sound, thanks for all the suggestions anyway. :)

My sound drivers make Privateer stall

Yeah, I've already done that. If I rem the apinit.com it works fine ... I just don't get any sound, because apinit.com is the sound driver! That in a nutshell is my problem.

My sound drivers make Privateer stall

Yeah, well they do have a DOS driver (called APINIT.com), but that causes Priv to stall (regardless whether sound is turned on or off, just loading the driver is enough to make Privateer stall), and there aren't any other ones available at their web site.
