    Interesting Kickstarter with WC possibilities

I found this on Boing Boing today - it's a Kickstarter for a cardboard fighter cockpit that you can have in your living room to play video games through. Now they're just calling it a "jet fighter" plan, but I'm sure that some clever Wing Commander fans could change this up. I'd definitely pick...

    Wing Commander makes Cracked list

Wing Commander IV made the Cracked list of "The 5 Most Sadistic 'Game Over' Scenes in Video Game History", coming in at #4. http://www.cracked.com/article_21313_the-5-most-sadistic-game-over-scenes-in-video-game-history.html

    FTL: Faster than light

I have the game, but it's infuriatingly difficult. It got to the point where I decided to dig up a strategy guide to help me out, and while I learned a decent amount, I soon realized that I was doing no better than when I was "flying blind".

Wing Commander movie DVD $4.99 @ Best Buy

Hi all, I don't know if it was just in my area (Wilkes-Barre, PA), but the local Best Buy had the Wing Commander movie on sale for $4.99. Not sure if it's this week only.

Myst parody for Mac (that is NOT Pyst)

Hey all, I've been buying games through Steam's Summer Sale, including their nice little Cyan pack, which got me thinking back to a Myst parody that I played back in the day - it would've been released no later than 1998. I feel like it was called "MYSTy", but the only stuff I can find on...

    Privateer 3 in Print (June 9, 2010)

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but if you've got a Borders near you and want a copy of this book, you might want to check them out before they close. I found a copy up there in the science-fiction section at 40% off cover price.

The Art of Claw Marks - Part 1: Talking Heads (August 11, 2011)

You know, these pictures remind me of the character art you'd find at the beginning of those Star Wars books for kids like "The Revenge of Zorba the Hutt".

    A useful discovery for some....

Is the F-16 one the same one that Thrustmaster sold as a "Top Gun" joystick?

Need help with a data storage format

Update for all who are interested: Someone here at the university managed to pop on of these in...and all of the files are from some obsolete library cataloging/management software (I don't recall the name) that was used back in 1994-1996. So obsolete and ancient that the university doesn't...

Need help with a data storage format

Oh sweet, good call on that one Andrewas. Now, will these kind of tape drives work with computers running Windows XP? Sorry if my question seems dumb, but I've never seen these kinds of minicarts before.

Need help with a data storage format

Hey all, I work at a library, and I've been working with our library's archivist from time to time. One of the things that she recently found are these storage disks from a long, long time ago. Like, 1995-1996 long ago. We know that the one on the left is a 3M TR-1 Minicartridge (mainly due to...

Guinness is terrible. I can't stand the taste of it, and it smells like someone vomited in your cup.

    Beer

For some reason, Blue Moon makes me hiccup whenever I drink it. Yuengling is generally my beer of choice around here, mainly because it's available nearly everywhere, is cheap, and is damn tasty. I also like Bud Light, Stegmaier Oktoberfest, and Tsingtao. Sam Adams is okay, but I'm not a big...
