I personally liked the fact that the ship configurations made the game more challenging (at least to me). I found that when playing Secret Ops or Prophecy that missions were always fairly simple and you could waste away your missiles whenever you wanted and still be able to complete missions. I...

um... How about some general system requirements for the game.... I know they won't have the final release number but just a general idea would be nice because I want to know how much I should invest in graphic / sound cards next year heh.

Um Not the most expert at the subject.... but... Mabe you should make a boot disk so you can boot directly to dos. (I'f my memory is working right) you need the autoexec.bat, config.sis, and command.com..... is there more?

mabe.... in win xp... if you have that there is an option under the joysticks thing to set up the joystick for older games. I had a problem with Vegastrike until I set the joystick to a parallel status in there.

good luck I even have the windows version of Privateer 2 and it don't work, hey, if someone knows how to get it to work share your insight :)

I also find that rolling can help you aviod turret fire, if you do it right, or you can act like a madman and fly every witch way and just make it so the missile can barely lock on :)

When Installing Privateer 2 on my pc i got a message that said there is not enough room to load the game (after seeing that there is plenty...20 gig). Has anyone else had similar problems and have they solved them? oh and I'm running Win XP Home

another problem you might come up with is that if you give the missile too many childs.... the game will crash because the ai also use missiles. (there are too many at one time) The sad thing about it is that when I was editing missiles it took me forever to figure that out.... oy!

I like a background with just stars and planets, I don't like having all the wispy nebulas like in WCP and SO (I turn textured space off). I think it looks too cluttered with all that stuff, (ex. having a nebula every system you travel to (wcp+so).
