Wing Commander Prophecy: Secret Ops Model Update Pack

I failed to find the most recent download link for this using the search? Where can I find that? To my surprise, there is no MODS category here:
Those pages probably haven't been updated in about 15 years. You should use https://www.wcnews.com/wcpedia/Category:Wing_Commander:_Prophecy which does have a mods section. But more directly, you can grab the package at https://www.wcnews.com/news/2019/08/26/mup-project-now-beta-testing (same link as AD posted)
 
I tried from another browser (for the 2 links) and it tells me that it cannot download securely. It downloads but leaves the file at the "Unconfirmed.crdownload" stage

you should still be able to click on the notification and choose "keep". It's annoying but I guess it might save you from a random virus someday. (It's because it's an EXE file. Google won't let you email EXE files directly either). My workaround in chrome is to right click the link and choose "save link as" instead of directly clicking the link, which tries to open it. It still gives me an "insecure download" error in the download manager but you can then click "keep" to finish downloading.

I was able to download the file using Firefox. I was also unable to download the file using Chrome. The installation into the GOG version of WCP went without any problems.

Would anyone have time to test the following?

Fixes:

All modes:
Decrease briefing line width on high resolution monitors
Fix original FMV aspect on super-wide monitors
Fix pixel based stars when starfield is disabled
Match 3DFX HUD transparency
Remove cockpit shake
Fix rendering of targets on the radar

With HDR Enabled:
Lens flares (were disabled for standoff as it had super bright assets)
Make the briefing bloom less garish

With HDR disabled:
Ignore additive and superbright flags on overriden assets (balanced for HDR only)


EDIT: File removed so no one else accidentally downloads it.

Thanks, I found a few issues myself. Video alignment for 4:3 and transparency on some of the overriden reticules in SO (will either filter them out or make obeying the alpha a toggle). But testing is still welcome to find any other issues.
 
It's nice to see an update for the OpenGL patch! I did a quick test during a recent livestream of mine, and it works almost perfectly. The only issues I've seen so far are:
1. Taller videos like the Origin Systems and Dolby Surround logo videos are displayed off-center in widescreen resolutions.
2. With the Model Update Pack, any mission that has a Leviathan (for example, T'lan Meth 4a) will cause the game to crash during the loading sequence. I don't know why the game crashes, but I think it may be because the Leviathan uses too much VRAM?

Check out the latest version of the GL in the WCP: Unlimited thread, it's newer than the one above. I tried it just in an windowed ultrawide 1440x720 and the original CD videos centred and scaled as expected.

ODVS's V4 pack and the DVD pack all use the same resolution across all videos afaik.

Was your stream recorded?
 
Putting in a direct link so no one grabs the wrong one. I think there was a patch for that crash but could double check its nothing to do with the GL.

 
All right, the new version of the OpenGL patch fixes the positioning of 4:3 videos, but does not fix the Leviathan crash.

I tried installing the new version of WCP Unlimited onto my GOG copy of WCP (installed via Heroic), but the game just asked me to insert CD 3. Aside from that, the MUP seems to come with WCP Unlimited.

Here's a ZIP with a saved game on T'lan Meth 4a; Hopefully, that can help you find the issue.

Well the GL would be unlikely to have anything to do with specific models, however I tried locally and couldn't reproduce your crash.
Are you sure you have the most recent version of the MUP? I know the previous one was prone to crashing.
 
For the cd3 issue, just try replacing only the wcpunl.dll and not the exe. The exe in the the unl package likely not the gog version. I'm sure the MUP package has the gog version though so reinstall it and replace the dll only.
