Why Prophecy on GBA?

Yeah, there is a cable, and its about 7 bucks. Unfortuantely, you cant use it to play your GBA on your TV. But hope is still out there. There is another cable which lets you do it. I had a customer at work tell me about it the other day. But I have never seen it.

There's actually a few different solutions to doing it....of course, you'll have to open up and screw around with your GBA to make it work. Although luckily I beleive most of them don't require and sodering or anything.

You´re right, Kris, I could play new WC games in WC1/2 style / graphics forever.
Well, to be honest, the only thing the old engines handled reasonably well was moving forward. Slowly. <G>

Every Wing Commander game has been amazing for its time. But those who say that the eye candy is what defines Wing Commander should just go and play Independance War 3 or whatever game people use these days to show off their GeForce 4 Ultra Titanium Golden Sample. I'll take an immersive storyline and detailed universe over 40 bazillion textures any day.

It's not that hard, either. I stole mine from Hades!

THEIVING BASTARD!! :D:D

I'm actually very excited about this release. I think I will probably order more than I usually do for a new GBA release. All the WC fans around here have already told me they are gonna buy it when it comes out. Hopefully it will do good enough to get someones attention.......

Joystick, large (LCD projection) screen, surround sound subwoofer wall shaking system cant fit into a GBA tho. :)

You can get a mini-joystick faceplace for your GBA from Best Buy for $1.50. I have also plugged my GBA into both my home and car audio systems. Similarly I've got the TV kit so I can play on any tv or projector with composite or S-video inputs.

There are two GBA-to-TV solutions that I know of, one of which is currently available.
One is this GBA-to-TV converter
http://www.gamegizmo.com/products.php?sysID=5&pID=33 - nothing fancy
The other is this GBA TV Tuner
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/products/product.asp?pf_id=226476
-It also, on top of allowing you to use the GBA as a TV, has RCA, RF jack, and SVHS (supposedly) jacks to allow input/output to other devices with such jacks.

How dare you post that link here! I don't even believe that will do output. GameStop carries a part that definitely works and it's already out.

Type in your zip code for the nearest location with a unit near you or buy online if you're outside the US. I've got one, they're great. Keep in mind any kit that gets your GBA to play on a television requires internal modification. There is no simple cable that does it, nor any sort of GameCube link to do it.

I want to see it because it's fricking cool... portable Wing Commander without that crazy portable Sega CD thing or whatever the hell it is...

There is also an *excellent* portable PSone monitor that Sony makes that will allow you to take WC3 and WC4 PSX on the road, videos and all.

The only thing I am really looking forward to on the Prophecy on GBA is the multiplayer option, even thought what I posted earlier, on why you would get it. This is the only reason I would get it, other then that there are so many more options with the one on the computer. Making your own missions, ships, stuff like that.

Actually, according to reviews and the like - the Electro Source TV Tuner DOES have external output capabilities via video and audio in/out jacks - standard RCA ones for certain, and supposed S-video as well. Mind you, I don't know if it'd allow output of what was on the screen of the GBA in a game since that's a tuner and it'd likely be feeding signal out from the tuner rather than the GBA.

However, the first kit does require some internal work, IIRC, to function.

Both of those kinda suck. This is the good one.

Yeah, like I said, you're not going to be playing GBA on the tv without internal modification.. That's why I don't think that tv tuner one actually allows you to play games onscreen.

With these converters/attachments and cables, and with alot of video systms being installed in SUV's and RV's, this could work out very well! I could not think of a better way to keep the kids occupied on a nice long road trip than to play a round of WCP GBA! :)

Yes exactly!!!!! Then WC would be popular with both kids and parents. The parents would be happy that the kids are quiet and the kids would be happy because the are busy.
