Prophecy and Secret Ops in XP (was: WCP video question)

Heres this for an oddity: I can't get Prophecy to even install on my computer! I was going to replay that and finally play Secret Ops, but the installer tells me that I dont have enough available HD space, despite the fact I have about 160 gigs available. Anyone have a clue?

There is another, way more uggly way - that's what I do with old games complaining about disk space ^^, cause the trick ChrisReid mentioned doesn'T work for em :(

Fill your HDD till it let's you install it

I take it I "install" Secret Ops in the same fashion, just in a subfolder in the Prophecy directory.

Secret Ops is a completely separate game, so there's no ties between it and the Prophecy installation stuff. You can unzip it to its own directory and run the launcher to set some stuff. There are no registry patches.

I am having problems trying to launch wing commander secret ops, prophecy works on my computer but it keeps coming up with some kind of error mid way of opening the program. Can anyone provide any help with this thanks

I have tried all these patchs and programs, proceedures and suggestions but nothing allowed me to run the ingame video cutseens on WCP flawlessly until I installed this very old sound card. The SoundBlaster PCI CT4740. You can purchase them from E-bay or follow this link:

A movie skip patch is something that prevents movie skipping.;)
Video skipping is the problem you're having.

Hi, just found my old copy of Secret Ops. I managed to install it fine, compatibility settings and all that. Then I tried to run it with the hi-res mod. Unexpectedly it hard-resets my PC. Any ideas?

There are a few bugs with the high res patches that don't have workaround. It was designed with 800x600 and 1024x768 in mind, so if your desktop is running higher than that, scale down before you start Secret Ops.

higher RES??

Hi, as a first thing I want to thank you for posting such a number of advices, I got the WCSO working only thanks to you, now what I want to ask is if I can get a Higher resolution that 1024x768 such as 1280 or higher, Im using the patch and 32-bit collors and the graphics are a bit torchy....

Welcome to the forums, Mikra!

And I don't think you can get a higher-res, but what do I know?

The Maniac

P.S.-Whooaa, this thread is old!

Thanks for welcome, I think I don't even need a higher res, the graphics are outstanding if you consider that the game is 8 years old...!!!
