Isn't that overkill? Transports are supposed to be mostly cargo space, not armour, that's why they rely on escorts for defence. I feel not more than a dozen light fighters should be able to take out a transport with relative ease, even a corvette. 50 fighters for a destroyer is more reasonable, I think.
 
is meant to make you build bombers, which can do it with 1 or 2 torpedos.

bombers are slow and with big binding boxes. they get clobbered by fighters.

forces you to build all different kinds of units. its for gameplay only.

Homeworld is a great 3D RTS game you should try it out if you get the chance wedge. Some of the mods for it are so cool.

Scheherazade, I have been in the process of adjusting game stats for a while now. Arrow needs to go. Has four weapons opposed to the Darkets two. Arrow clobbers Darket always. Got tired of it. Gets worse when you have large groups of both. So my mod idea will have Ferret vs. Krant instead for better play balance. No longer using exact per cic stats for the ships weapons anymore. Makes the fighters seem too powerful. Bombers are the powerful units with the torp or dumbfire missile.

I figure the Bloodfang and Excalibur class will have the firepower of bombers with the flight and movement of a fighter.

Check out the shiplist at my mod forums. I have lots of units in the mod. Working on texturing now a massive project.
 
Oh, I have no doubt it's a great game. It certainly looks great. Story sounds quite interesting too.
 
I love mods extends the life of a game well past its prime and if we didn't have them interest in the fps genre and the games like the sims or any other genre for that matter would have died from "been there done that" and "the this is old and boring" syndrome so why Ghost and Lehah feel the need to bash it I will never understand.



"Why do people hate the things that we play. Why do they Descriminate the things that they don't get." The truth is we don't care that you hate it so making fun of something you don't get is just a waste of everybodys time cause people don't really care what you got to say if your gonna bash.
