Miscellaneous Privateer stuff Q's

No, but you see the better and the new that a country have at these time.... you want to win , you put the best.
and the gothri was the best.

no ghost, it was the best IN THE GEMINI Sector, a reletivly minor sector, that does not make it better than a Sorthak or Vaktooth or Bloodfang 2.

Dammit, you're right... that's one of those stupid things I picked up in #wing-commander :(

TC

There a lot of difences of armor and shield of P fighters and WC III fighters, they would not live long.
Besides there are no battles in gemini sector for the last 10 years (manual) so its a back water sector were old fighters and ships are send.

Yes, but SO1 is in Enigma Sector, and Enigma is important, and the can refit the fighter like the Dralthi, they have 4
versions/refits

The Dralthi design out look of WC I, II and III is quite diferent.
There could have been a new Saltri design prototype fighter being under develepemt, the same goes for all the other Kilrathi ships.
Besides, WC III was to use the P engine but technology keep on going....
So stilletos fighters could have been, for a time, in the WC III developers ideas, but either they forget it or they drop it, like WC armada fighters. Those sould be in WC III as well.

Of course, but if fans can do things with the WC P engine,
why the people in Origin not with the engine of WCIII

They belive that the fighters now looked so diferent, they need a new designation.
Remenber that circles could not been used in WC III engine, so the old ships being seen on WC II and P sould not have been corrected made in WC III engine.
WC P is very liberal in that, so old fighters and ships are now showing up, being made by fans.

If the Gothri is new in WC2 SO1 and appears in Privateer (how many years after ?), why they don´t appear in WCIII (same year that Priv) they are brand new.

Well actually, the Gothri is a frontline WC2 era fighter. By Privateer (two or so years later) it has been replaced on the frontline by the Vaktoth. It now serves in 'backwater' sectors like Gemini.

yea ghost, there are still morningstars in the confederation SF and i am sure there are still ships that are of the same class as the Waterloo, we just do not see them

Not necessarily. The Morningstar you fly is only a prototype. Not all prototypes make it to production. The Morningstar is slated as a heavy fighter, presumeably as a replacement for the Sabre. Perhaps it did not perform as well as hoped (a problematic powerplant is not something that wins construction contracts) and lost out to the Thunderbolt VII.

Personally, I feel that the Priv Stiletto bears an enormous physical resemblance to the Morningstar. Perhaps, by stripping some armor and weapons to improve speed, the Morningstar was redesignated the Stiletto light fighter.

Then there's the fact that the Gothris could have been flown by Kilrathi renegades/privateers instead of the military.

Kilrathi Privateer???
There is no Kilrathi Privatters.(not until the end of WC III)
As for rogues, well only nobles can fly fighters, so a isurrection from kilrathi is unlikely or if there was one, they would fly regular fighers, not old fighters.
