Difference between Neutral and Friendly in Priv1

There may not be a 'help me out here' but you can still get friendly with whatever group (excluding retros) by selecting '3' each time in the comm menu.

I'm fairly certain that Hunter wasn't a handle. It was his name. Hunter is an uncommonly used name here in the states, and probably other parts of the world too.

He wrote that unplugged book thing. I thought it was funny when you met up with him before escorting him to Oxford, you talk a bit with him, and I always responded after he states "I hope we dont run into any Retros", I would respond "If we do were dead meat!", then he says, "Oh dear Lord!" :D

From the Top Ten list of stuff Hunter Toth says...

Oh dear, are you one of those dreadful retros?
Please, tell me you're not here to kill me!
Thank you, young man.
I just hope we don't encounter any retros...
Of that I'm sure.
Oh gracious me!

(According to bartenders in RF, the Retros eventually got him.)

They were doing their own thing, though... that was one of the points of Privateer <G> (One of the advertising slogans, in fact, was about how you didn't have a wingman to save you in this game:)).

Heh. I could count the number of times that a wingman has saved my butt on the fingers of one hand. :D

Best, Raptor

Cannot remember it right, but why was he unpopular, anyway? Had he pissed them off like Salman Rushdie did it with Iran?

Because Hunter Toth wrote some book about the Retros that P'd them off. So they put him on a hitlist. Its too bad they didnt send more Retros to Oxford during that escort mission, there werent enough of them!! :)

He wrote "Prometheus Unplugged", which basically was a
send-up of the Retro movement and showed that they were
a bunch of idiots. Sort of like Hank Hanegraeff's
recent book "Counterfeit Revival" which beat up a fairly
large movement in the Christian community.

The Retros didn't care for his writing; doubtless people who might otherwise become Retros were
reading his book, and so the Retros felt threatened. So
they put him into the "top ten wanted" list and eventually
captured him in RF. No indication as to what happened
after that, but I'm guessing a show trial followed by
an auto-da-fe.

Respectfully,

Brian P.

He also coined the term Retro. Toth (or more commonly seen, Thoth) was the egyptian god of wisdom and learning. He depicted as an ibis-headed human, an ibis, or a baboon (or dog-headed ape), perhaps because the facial expressions of these creatures suggested thoughtfulness. He also usually carries a pen and scrolls with which he records all things. Perhaps Origin had a former Anchient History student who didn't sleep through class. The name could mean hunter for wisdom or hunter for learning (the god's wife was the goddess of Truth), which would seem a little hidden joke considering the Retros only wanted to unlearn.

 Are you kidding? I hated those escort missions. Those Draymans have less armour than a Remora! Well... almost.
