An Aquifier is a formation of permeable material. A pump draws up water from the aquifer, and sends it into a network of pipes that then force the water into the soil where plants can reach it.
This method of getting water directly to plant roots is essential on hot planets where spraying water directly on the plants would cause the plants to fry. |
