Jean Talvert's father is a professional racing pilot, and her mother is a commercial shuttle pilot. Both combat veterans. They taught Jean to fly atmospheric craft by age the age of 10, and space ships by 15.
Talvert was a straight-A student, and was approached by numerous top colleges, but opted for entering the Space Force Academy instead. Talvert suffered heat rash under her helmet on her first time in a fighter.
Upon graduation, she was accepted for a one year tour with Space Forces exhibition flight team Empyrean Zephyrs, and is then transferred to the Midway's Diamondback squadron.
Talvert's first combat engagement was against the Demon's Eye Pirates. Upon killing her first pirate, she "threw up in the cockpit". Despite this, she quickly rose through the ranks becoming acting commander of the Diamondback squadron, then joining the Black Widow squadron, and then the Wolf Pack squadron.
Following the initial Nephilim encounter, Talvert was transferred to the Special Operations division and the TCS Cerberus. |
