XBLA Titles For Sale At Amazon (April 11, 2009)

Amazon.com has reached a partnership with Microsoft to sell XBox Live Arcade games directly through its website (for play on the XBox 360). Wing Commander Arena is not yet available, but Electronic Arts' Boom Boom Rocket and Hasbro game night titles are. After purchasing a product, Amazon.com gives the user a code that they input to the XBox 360 to download their item. Points and subscriptions are also available at Amazon in addition to the XBox.com website. When Arena was released, many fans asked for a way to buy the game before they purchased the system. That's not currently an option, but this is a big step in that direction.

Just FYI, it's for people with US billing addresses only. Probably also requires that your Xbox Live account be a US account as well...

I'm still holding out hope for a PC port of Arena. I want to play Arena, but I don't want to spend the cash on an X-box 360.

They're not working on a PC port. Time to bite the bullet. Only $199 to $299 and there's tons of other fun stuff to do with it after Arena.

What are you talking about, Chris? None of the machines in the growing pile of dead out-of-warranty computers in my basement ever tossed a RROD. They just didn't come on one day. And then I had to buy another. For a couple thousand dollars.

Much better than an Xbox..

The point is that there's no legitimate reason to avoid buying an Xbox360 unless you really don't play games. Replacing a failed Xbox is entirely painless and quick, so the red ring of death is really no concern to anybody. All the best games are available for the system, and Xbox Live is awesome.

The 360 is the best thing to happen to videogames in a really long time.
