Hello

I like to paint n collect spaceship vessels, and if they re related to Wing Commander .. even better :) . Loved the entire series incl. spin offs.
Regrettably there arent any model kits.. :/

Its my goal to get Resin models of the capital ships from both sides, but for that I need blueprints.
Since I'm not that much into 3D modelling at PC I hope to find help here.

Anyone able to help out ?

how big of model kits are you planning.. there are some paper models out there that might work as pretty good templates for a resin model.

I love miniatures so I'd definitely be interested in seeing what you come up with.
 
What exactly do you mean by 'blueprints'? (and, just as to the point, 'miniatures'?)

There are plenty of models around, but many of them are somewhat clumsy geometry-wise, not the sort of thing you want for a 3D-printer kind of thing. On the other hand, if you want just pure reference material, there's an abundance of virtually everything in any direction you look; do a search on the front page. If you're looking for kitbashing material that'll probably work as well.

The only really detailed blueprints are the ones that came with the original Wing Commander. There's been a plethora of artwork, both official and fanmade, since then, but it really depends on how detailed you need things to be. It'd be easier to help if you laid out your requirements more specifically; this is really too vague to give much useful aid.
 
Atm I am playing X3. found lately a few Wing Commander ships form the Wing Commander 3 part .. i.e the Cruiser, Destroyer, Frigate and so on.

Those models I like to rebuild in Resin.

Scaling .. well I thought about models having a length of 5 - 6 inch and fitting to the original as good as possible.

You know a few weeks ago I was thinking it would be cool to have something like Battlefleet Gothic with Wing Commander models. That would be a ton of fun I think. Oh well I guess that's what pipe dreams are for...
 
Over the years I remember wingnuts making their own resin and clay models. Try searching the front page for them. You might find some things that will be easy to replicate.

Yeah.. the Bengal Class carrier looks good, now imagine it colored properly ^^.

Will search for wingnuts resin models, hopefully he has some WC3 Capital ships too.

I was talking about how cool it would be to have a Wing Commander Table Top Miniatures Game the other day. We may have a go at working on some rules for it. We have both been mini gamers for over 15 years now.

I really dig the tokens I found on here, unfortunately they are 72 dpi and will not print well.
