Wing Commander 4 DVD

I have Wing Commander 4 DVD PC game. I won it of ebay and trying to run in on my computer. I have XP pro/9700 Radon Pro. The error message I get is VirtualProtect() Failed

Is there anyway I could fix this problem. I need you help, I'm a really big WC fan and dont know how to make it work. Thanks

You probably got the game that I was thinking about getting. I'm not an expert on the subject, but, according to what I have read, you need special hard/software to play the DVD version.

I also own this WC4 DVD. It was bundled with a DVD drive from Creative Labs in 1999. It had a MPEG-decoder card (Dxr2) with it, you need this card to watch the movies within the game. Or you can use PowerDVD and load the VOB files and watch the movies seperatly outside the game.
