Why Secret Ops my friends?

I believe he's referring to Arthur's reputation as being the "once and future king"; that is, the legends have it that Arthur will return to reign again some day, from his current residence in the Isle of Avalon.
Well, either that, or he was implying that WC never existed :p.

Ah, but Arthur DID exist!...

He was an actual British warrior/king living, I believe, in the 400's or 500's AD. That's where all legends begin; with an actual fact/event/person, and then they add a whole bunch of other stuff that may or may not be true.

(The whole thing about him going to the Isle of Avalon to return & reign some day is literature's attempt to turn him into an archetype of Christ, who, by contrast, WILL return to reign again one day...)

You're prolly thinking of MYTHS, which are completely fabricated out of whole cloth

Oh yes, Arthur did exist, possibly even as two different people. But the Arthur we know from the legend did not exist - by the time the legend has reached us, it's been so distorted over millenia that (most likely) there's virtually no facts in it at all.
