Why can't I buy ships???

It seems as if I can't purchase new ships. Here are the steps I'm taking:

1. I'm on Perry, and I have almost 500,000 credits.
2. Go to the ship dealer.
3. Click on the Centurion, Orion, or Galaxy - the ship purchase menu comes up.
4. Both the right and left lists are empty. I assume available ships should be in the left list.
 
I think perry doesn't have civvie craft right now--we could make it so theydo--and likely will when we get the proper pricing scheme in
 
Ah, I guess Perry is just different. I thought it was happening on every base, and I went to Perry because I figured every ship would be for sale there.

But, I just checked, and there are ships availalbe at New Constantinople. So, false alarm.


@Hellcat:
When you say no civilian ships on Perry, does that mean we should have the ability to purchase military ships like the Broadsword?
 
Yes, I am on the last Tayla mission.

It's on hold, because I decided I need a Centurion - just like in the original :)
 
No, it's the Confed and the militia; if they decide to swarm me, the Tarsus can get hammered pretty quick.
