Who owns it?

I honestly think that Telep filled in holes in the script while he was writing the novelization. I like his technical aspect of his writing, it reminds me of Tim Zahn, but that of course is just opinion.

As for "Weakest book in the series", I think Chris Reid would disagree. I can't speak for him, but we had this discussion once before I read the Telep novels and he said he perfered him.

And Chris Reid has what to do with this <G>?

I don't think Telep really filled in anything -- his novel is a direct translation of the pre-cut script.

::Shrug:: All the more reason we should get a director's cut or even a work print of the WC movie.

You do that... Roberts seems to have no intention of showing anyone the missing scenes, and it was his descision to cut them... we can only live with his choice <G>

What an unusually placid response from LOAF! I'm disheartened! :(

Though Mr Roberts is the creator of our beloved series, I think it's still bad judgement to just sit on such footage.
Your not even the tiniest bit curious what the knife fight looked like?

It sure is weird how hilarious it is that TC's a cadet now, whereas it wasn't funny at all this morning when I was a cadet.
Bummer!! I can't believe I missed that... :)

I noticed some things about the WCM novel. One LOAF is specifically acknowledged for his help, and secondly, Tolwyn is aboard a Confederation class dreadnought with a fighter complement of 120 fighters being escorted by the Waterloo class Beowoulf. That second part is kinda a contradiction to continutity of the games AND the movie since the Concordia couldnt have been around yet since it was before the Sivar Dreadnought was destroyed, and that in the movie, it was a supercrusier.

Towlyn was not on a Confederation-class dreadnaught in the movie. He was on a Concordia-class Supercruiser named Concordia. :)

Well if you read the first few pages of the movie novelization its a Confederation class dreadnought which i was pointing out cause it contradicts what we know is the truth.

That's because, when he wrote the book, all Telep had was info from the games regarding the ships.

Forstchen, though good, has a bad habit of repeating himself. How many times have we heard "If Tolwyn died defending Earth, he would have been remembered as the greatest hero of the Kilrathi war" since Fleet Action? UGH.

I only remember that from the end of FC. Anywhere else?

I'm a big Forstchen fan (I have about twenty books by him), but I would agree he does repeat himself. I've never read the phrases "God damn you to hell" or "damn it all" so many times in my life until I started reading his books. ;)

Still, you'd think people who are risking their lives against an alien foe would use more colorful langauge, yes?

No, despite Hollywood's portrayal, military officers are generally rather professional regarding what's essentially their profession. :)
