Who owns it?

Presumably, EA sold the rights for a limited time - that's standard procedure. This would have been at least three years ago, and thus it's very likely that these rights have already returned to EA.

It's possible that someone may one day offer to... It's unlikely that EA would agree to sell the rights, however.

Would it be possible that EA could sue over these WC mod games, seeing as they own title to WC?

Also...loaf...bring back the burger!!!

Custom ranks are broken for some reason right now.

EA won't sue anyone over WC mods -- they don't particularly care about the liscence.

Presently, EA holds all the marbles.

Baen's contract with EA over the WC series is over. Forstchen had a chance to renew it but lost interest in the series since he had filled his "quota" of novels. Andrew Keith, who co-wrote "False Colors" and I think the WC3 novel, was suppose to pick up the series but God had other plans and decided to kill him instead, that Bastard!

Now, now, don't bad-mouth the Man Upstairs.

Forstchen "lost interest", huh? Too bad. :(

In all dealings hence with Forstchen, he's certainly expressed interest... it's just that Baen didn't renew the contract and thus didn't request that he write any more books.

(He was offered the movie novel by HarperCollins, but turned it down because the pay was so low...)

It sure is weird how hilarious it is that TC's a cadet now, whereas it wasn't funny at all this morning when I was a cadet.

hehe... dash, I was hoping someone else would make the first cadet comment so I could kick them in the head repeatedly...

Telep's style is a life-saver, considering the script handed to him to novelize.

Forstchen, though good, has a bad habit of repeating himself. How many times have we heard "If Tolwyn died defending Earth, he would have been remembered as the greatest hero of the Kilrathi war" since Fleet Action? UGH.

He also has a tendency to over-emphasize characterization, In "End Run", the crew chiefs apparently become so insulted if someone insults the Tarawa that they end up getting in their face and almsot fighting them. He's only re-written that scenario a 100 times since, yes?

Telep's story is *exactly* like the script, though, with various technical points stated directly... making for really really annoying prose. (And his original story was definately the weakest of the WC saga).
