Which joystick is best?

First off, let me say (and I'm gonna repeat this in a few new threads) how friggin' thrilled I am with this effort!! :)

All of you who have made this happen: I salute you, I serve you lox and bagels in the morning, I give you back massages, I wash your cars, I mow your lawns, etc.

Privateer... ROCKS! Obviously. Freelance et al... meh.

So, the worship for you all aside:

Since WC and Privateer, I've been almost exclusively a Civ2 and Civ3 guy... my only joystick is an old Thrustmaster, and it's got rust on it.

What works best with the new PrR? I'm XP, on a fairly fast rig.
 
try a nice joystick with 3 axis rotation and a throttle--- make sure it centers properly and doesn't have any calibration problems.

You *might* need to hack vegastrike.config to flip/reverse axes if you get unlucky and your manufacturor puts things in a different order than the default (i.e. z axis first)
