Me persoannly I like the Victory cause whenever I was in trouble that ship could take a pounding and keep on kickin, plus the comms changed in some way EVERYTIME I landed.

But next in line would be the Intrepid cause when I would choose to fight my way past Ella it would hold it's own against the other cap ships comming after it.

I'm also going to go with Stunner, here. I loved the Victory because that thing could take on a damn fleet and still limp around with some pride, and the Intrepid was a damn tough little ship, when you can charge after the Vessuvius like that.

I'd have to go with the Intrepid as I'm a Border Worlder at heart.

After that, the Vic I'd guess.

Cheers

I guess I am a sentimental fool but I liked the Victory's durability second is a tie between the Intrepid and the old Claw

WC2 was the first WC game i played, and while i dont think it was the best (wc4 imho) I did fall in love with it's ships, I love the Concordia for her ability to kick the crap out of any capship and her ability to decently defend herself from fighters, and the fact that she NEVER shot me down

I have to agree with Napoleon. Ah, back in the days when you could sit down and blow the hell out of K'thitrak Mang....

I voted for the Claw. My reasons are: 1) nostalgia- I got hooked from the start with wc1 2) like Lynx, I also admire the smaller 'escort'-type carriers and similar, in this case a 'strike' carrier 3) durability- one time I sat back to observe how long it would take a flight of 5 Gratha to destroy it...the Claw took down 3 before being destroyed after quite a while 4) it took on a whole damn fleet by itself, correction...2 fleets, second being very big, with a little help from the pilots, of course! 5) the Tiger's Claw had a warm 'home' feeling to it and I got attached to it rather quickly, then some bastard kitties blew it up! They blew up MY ship!(not that I hate Cats, they rock!...just those that took out the Claw:( )

Intrepid and Concordia were extremely close, respectively.

The Concordia's fighter bays would always get blown up in some way. :D Either due to sabotage or whatever, heh. So NO!

Victory for me baby. I love everything about WC3, it was the best game out of them all!!! :D

The Victory felt most like home, possibly because WC3 was the first interactive-movie and the characters had more depth. However, strictly based on combat reliability I'd have to go with the Concordia. Because of the impenetrability of her phase shields, any non-torpedo-carrying enemy ships are no threat whatsoever, unlike any other WC game (even in WCP, since some capships components can be destroyed by gunfire.) In fact as far as I can remember, the only time the Concordia can ever be destroyed is during a Gothri attack in Special Operations 1. Other than that you can sit back and let her flak and Phase-Transit cannons take out everyone without having to worry about those "Your carrier has been destroyed" or the ever-annoying WCP "You are unable to land" messages.

BTW, anyone know why it seems a number of friendly capital ships in WC2 are "invulnerable," like Paladdin's Free Trader as well as a couple Gilgamesh-class destroyers (Hector etc)? You can tell when it gets destroyed because (duh) you hear the "friendly capship destroyed" music, but they are still alive. Not gonna complain though....

Re: Concordia

I would have to for the Victory. All right, she was old and battered, but the crew really set her apart for me. I found myself caring a lot more about what happenedto people like Vaquero or Flint than wingmen from any previous or later game.

Best, Raptor

I'm with Raptor on this one. The personnel really set the Victory apart. Plus I liked that it had a landing bay instead of a runway, and it opened on both ends so you could fly through instead of smashing into a bulkhead and taking the ship with you.

Penguin: The way I see it, the crew is as vital component of the ship as the steel. The Victory crew made her my favorite base of operations. Plus for such an old ship, she had one hell of a combat record.

You know, she really didn't -- before Alcor, her history is a mess...

Orsini, Tamayo -- backwater patrols.

Locanda -- historically *loses* the colony.

Blackmane -- loses the system.

Ariel -- scouts the system, but doesn't find anything interesting.

Caliban/Delius -- runs away from the Kilrathi

Torgo -- escorts the Behemoth in a Confed-held system.

Loki -- escorts Behemoth to Kilrathi space... and loses it.
