What's the Difference?

Well I liked them in Armada... but my opinion in everything dealing with armada is one sided... sadly

I liked the rapier too, it looked damn good, it made it believable that the rapier featured in wc2 was the same fighter. LOL

I liked Super Wing Commander also, but it wasn't like any of the other wing commander games, but if you are a WC freak, then get it, because it's fun.

Terrible? I should break a face for that! SWC KICKS SWEET ASS!
I have it I run it using a mac emulator... it is at least 10 times better than WC1 PC, the graphics kick ASS the voices are brilliant and the lip synching is excellent, if you don't have SWC, GET IT NOW!!!!!!!

You are joking... please...!?

The only ship *redesign* I agreed with is the Hornet. The rest were pretty cruddy. I was especially appalled at the Scimitar's "Confed Banshee," look. Ugh!

Groan, nothing's dumber than an argument about how people think something looks.

I do find it odd that everybody's suddenly obsessing over SWC... I mean, why didn't you play it back in 1993 :)? (I know, I'm bitter, I worked hard to buy a 3DO when they cost less than $5, to play SWC with when it was released...:)).

I did not know about SWC before pics of it where shown in the CIC news some months ago...

I'm quite confused about the VERY different opinions about SWC... so to get this straight:
who played SWC on the 3DO/Mac, and what was better/worse compared to WC1 PC?

And another question to those from Germany (or the countries next to Germany): How good are the chances to get a 3DO including SWC or WC3?

The entire page refers to SWC

I'm pretty sure my stance on that game is quite clear, since I bash it at every opportunity!

I didn't play the game until very recently in December. I never bought in 1993 because I only had the money for a 3DO until 1995 when WC3 came out for it (reason I bought the system). By then, the game was no where to be found.... I found it on eBay and knew I had to experience it. It seemed very promising... but I soon became scared after seeing Paladin's eye patch and hearing his voice in the opening cinema. Argh, maties....

Col.Halcyon

I know this is a bit off topic but anyway i was woundering. How come Col.Halcyon is the Commanding officer of the Claw? Why wasn't Blair able to Command his own ship too at the rank of Colonel?

Colonel Halcyon was only the CAG. The captain of the Claw was a navy man. In fact, Colonel Blair was the CAG of the Claw in WC3. That's why you see Blair giving the briefings to the pilots and not Captain Eisen.

It's too bad Halcyon never flew, though.... :(

Halcyon *was* commander of the 'Claw for a brief period... but simply because he was the ranking officer after the captain and then the temporary captain had left. (Twas during SM1).

I'll bet I'd scare the hell out of you, then. :)

I believe you meant to say Blair was the CAG of the Victory. Unless there's some temporal twist of fate that I'm not aware of, the Claw had been a collection of space debris for the a good ten years by the time WC3 rolled around.

Here's something else:

In the SNES WC1 all of the guns are crazy colors.... not like the PC WC1... unless my snes wc is all screwed up or something....

Oopsies

Yes, I meant to say Blair was CAG of the Victory :D

It would prolly be all screwed up. My version of WC1 for SNES had the right colors. (close to them anyway)

Look at his picture in his profile....thats scary enough!:D

My SNES Wing Commander had little Blue bolts for Laser Cannons, Average sized green bolts for Mass Drivers, and large red balls for Neutron Blasters..... I guess I got one messed up version.......:(

Don't cry, my version has the same colours . I looked at the back of the package: It shows the Hornet shooting blue bolts.

Same here on mine SM1...I haven't bought the original yet because i'm saving to buy Resident Evil for Gamecube. I have a question: I'm having trouble contacting my Wingmen,do any of you know how to do so on the SNES Version?
