What is WCHS?

Hmm... Akk should randomly show up again and put up the WCHS backup he claims he has, for historical value. Of course, I doubt he actually has it...
 
Yeah, but the pre-Akkbar leaving one was on his server, so he said he had a backup.
 
who was Akkbar? I've been here for awhile now (just completing my 3rd year) and I've only heard a little bit here and there about him.
 
The problem is that we generally didn't often have server access to make a backup.. LOAF would write updates.. email them to Akkbar.. he'd upload them and take credit.

Not specifically.. though you have picked up on the fact that it is an April Fools' Day tradition to insult him. Actually that tradition stems from a cruel April Fools joke he pulled on everyone back in 1997. He had prepared a very professional and believable update describing the release of the Wing Commander Prophecy multiplayer test. And his disclaimer about it being a joke was beyond regular sight. And he perpetuated this joke over irc so that one-by-one anyone and everyone had their wildest dreams fulfilled and crushed all day long. And he loved it.

Still, I don't see the need to continue with the insults, five years is long enough... although I guess it'd make other people happier.
