What ever happened to . . .

ah, so ur probb is with "poetic license?!" i see now, in that case im sorry, but still, since the books are the "opinion" of the author, and we take them as canon, the 2 can be linked here

Let's say for some weird reason I was contracted to write a WC book. The main character's name is Bill. I write, "Bill exploded the whole universe with the secret weapon. He thought to himself, 'Man, I just blew up the whole friggin universe!" That is technically a factual account of a historical event.

Not a single bit of that is opinion. See what I'm saying?

Well since the books are factual accounts, they can't be opinion, since opinion isn't fact. Further, even were that not true, and it is, opinion can't be canon unless it's fact.

See now?

Yeah I see what you meant now... but:

...was not necessary, since you said opinion can't be fact. :)

the book is not a "factual" acccount, its a story, a story based on the game which the author uses his OPINION to decide which way blair turns, if in the book blair doesnt destroy ella superbase in wc4, then its the opinion of the author that he wouldnt, in the game u have a choice, thus the books are opinionated

precisely
so the books which are the opinion that blair wouldnt destroy ella, are taken as canon and thats incorporated later on in the games

You're making our brains hurt -- the word "opinion" doesn't make sense in this situation. It's not the "opinion" of the author what happens in the book -- they're told what they can and cannot include in an adaptation... for example, Keith wanted to kill Vagabond and Maniac at the end of the WC3 novel. Origin told him he couldn't, since they'd be in WCIV.

Usually when people split hairs, they do so in order to make themselves look correct. You've done it and made yourself look horribly wrong, Madman, and it's a little confusing to everyone.

Now, listen carefully.

BOOKS ARE NOT OPINION.

Unless the whole book is an editorial, it is not opinion. The author may use his opinion when writing the book, but that does not make the book itself opinion.

For the love of God, please think before replying. Your posts make those of us with a sense of logic cringe.
