What ever happened to Jetlag?

Just wondering... whatever happened to Jetlag? Or his site at blacklance.org? At least the CIC has archived the Voices of War manual he made, but other goodies from his site like the End Run novel and a WC movie draft seem to have disappeared. Is it doomed to be lost to the Internet aether forever, much as Locke's site seems to be?

The WC Movie draft can probably be found in the CIC archives... don't know about End Run, though.

Speaking of long-lost sites, does anyone have any of the contents from Locke's Navpoint site? I'm interested specifically in the IRC log transcript (or transcripts, I don't remember if there was one or two of them) he had - there was a transcript of a chat session with Origin staff dating back to 1990/1991 (before WC2). There probably wasn't too much of significance in them, but it would be a shame if they were lost forever, considering how little production-related material there is for WC1/2.

The Wayback Machine might help with what you're after, Q, but unfortunately (and sensibly) it doesn't do much for media storage. I already have most of these things, but specifically, I'm after links for:

  • The End Run novel and accompanying cover.
  • The WC movie draft (I've downloaded the archives, but still haven't had time to look through much of it!).
  • The WC1 sprites.
  • The strange WC4 ship statistics, which I think was only on the single-sided DVD release.

Nah, I've tried looking for Locke's site in the Wayback Machine. Doesn't work - it seems, unfortunately, that the machine had some trouble archiving his website contents, and all that you can find in it are some of the frame pages.

Jetlag never returned home.

Actually, he's on IRC now. I'm not sure why he took down his site... but I have some of the files you're looking for.

I believe this is the log you're looking for: https://www.wcnews.com/loaf/wc2conf.txt

The End Run novel and accompanying cover.

https://www.wcnews.com/loaf/endrun-r1.zip - for the PDF.
https://www.wcnews.com/loaf/endrun100.jpg - for the cover graphic.

... and here's a shot of the art without the logos, from the old wow-art site: https://www.wcnews.com/loaf/endrunpainting.png

The WC movie draft (I've downloaded the archives, but still haven't had time to look through much of it!).

Draft 1: ftp://ftp.wcnews.com/files/documents/WCM_Script-10-27-95_High.zip
Draft 2: ftp://ftp.wcnews.com/files/documents/WCM_Script-09-21-97_High.zip
Draft 3: ftp://ftp.wcnews.com/files/documents/WCM_Script-01-08-98_High.zip

The WC1 sprites.

This, I don't have... but you can grab them pretty easily with WCNav: https://www.wcnews.com/loaf/wcnav.zip

The strange WC4 ship statistics, which I think was only on the single-sided DVD release.

Great, that's exactly it. Thanks!
By the way, is this the only such conference, or was there another one? I could swear there was also a post-WC2 log, but I read these so long ago that I just don't remember any more.

Welcome to the STAGE OF HISTORY!
I should have the big image with all the sprites here somewhere. I'll let you know.

Severl months back I was randomly talking about blacklance.org on IRC and jetlag mentioned something about his site. Because of crap that happened, a few years ago his directory and all the other user directories on the site got modified from user directories to just standard directories and people lost access. Everyone that actively used their got everything fixed up, but jetlag never actually bothered to ask about it. So when it magically came up a few months ago, we decided it'd just be easier to kill it and have him put it on crius where it'd be easier to find. I made sure he had copies of everything that was there, and killed it.

He hasn't uploaded to Crius or, you know, gotten around to actually requesting the space. I bugged him once or twice, but that's where it's at.

I may or may not have a partial archive of Locke's stuff somewhere. I'll look around my hard drive.
