Hi, I'm new around and here and I was wondering if Wing Commander was still being sold anywhere. I can't find it anywhere around where I live and thought maybe it was being sold somewhere close to me. I live in southern Indiana, a small town called Princeton. If you know where that is, or know of a place nearby that's still selling, please let me know. I was hoping it'd be around. I had it once before, but my computer couldn't run it at the time. Now it can, and I wish I'd kept it. When I bought it before, it was $20. Is it still around that price or what?

Oh, BTW, I love this place. The idea of ranks and such...who'd a thunk it? :P
 
Does anybody know of any used electronic stores in the Greater New york area where I might have some luck in finding KS?

Hop into the car and travel a bit around that area. Make some phone calls to relatives, have them keep an eye out for ya. Check them mom and pop stores. Or simply fork out the 300 bucks some idiot is asking for on ebay! But if you want it that badly, price shouldnt be a factor. Might just spend that 300 bucks on a machine that will run the originals and do away with the problems KS inherently had.

yea what problems did KS have? and luckily I just found a friend who got PC Gamer and now is going to let me install WC1 off the cover cd, YAY
 
You know, I just came back to WC after a year-long hiatus, and I've found that I have really been spoiled by the later (Heart, Price, and Prophecy) games. I basiucally can't fly with the original Wing Commander flight engine anymore.

Well, I can do the simple and medium missions, but I can't kick ass on the difficult ones like I used to. Sigh.

KS has a few problems, like not having SM or SO on the disks, and having improved but less memorable sounds and music. And I'd forgotten what a freak Maniac turns into during Operation Thor's Hammer. Yeesh.
