WCP Error

Hi,
I just recently purchased a copy of Wing Commander Prophecy Gold from softwarefirst.com, but it keeps crashing to my desktop and displaying the error;

dinput:fetch2 fell out of loop

This happens during both game play and movies. Any help would be really appreciated.

My specs are;

Windows 98 SE
Pentium III 450
256 MBs of RAM
44X ATAPI CDROM
3DFX Voodoo 3 3000 PCI
Creative Sound Blaster 128 PCI
Logitech WingMan Force 3D USB
9.51 GB Hard drive

In my experience, the problem has been the joystick. Try disconnecting it, or playing the game with the keyboard. That might work. If it's the stick that's the problem, you'll of course need a new one.

Thank you so much, Saturnyne. I unhooked the stick, and now the game is running perfect. If only I could say that same about my ability to fly with a mouse...

heh... well, if you want to use a joystick, use an analog stick. I recommend the Logitech Wingman Attack. You can find one for cheap at www.computers4sure.com
