WCIII Problem with PS2

I ran the WC3 on my playstation 2 unit and everything is ok except that it does not see my memory card. :( Is there a known issue for this or?? My other PS2 games saves ok.

Thanks.

Thats strange. I have a PS2 and WCIII and I have no problem detecting my Memory Card! Is it a multi-card, like a 2x or a 12x? they tend to have problems sometimes with responding to saves.

Also, for the love of God, don't expose a MadCatz 12x PS1 Memory Card to early morning dew. It now only reads the 12th slot and all my MTV Music Generator saves are gone! :(

I got the original PS2 8MB Memory Card. MagicGate. The P/N at the back is SCPH-10020.

I shut the system off and pull the memory, then put the memory back and turned it on and still WC3 won't find a memory card in there. Other ps2 titles are ok.

I do have my saved game for the GT3 on that memory card and its only 5% full. 95% still free. Is it because the memory card must be one for each game for the PS1 game in PS2??

thanks.

You can't use PS2 Memory cards to save PS1 games. It's in the PS2 instruction manual, if you ever cared to read it.

Edit: Go to your local toy store or game store and get an old PS1 Memory Card.

Thanks I will try that tonight. I have PS1 downstairs with a memory card. I will pull it out and try it.

PS: I thought that PS1 memory card can not be used with PS2. I guess I was wrong. Thanks.

You have it backwards. PS2 cards can't be used in PS1s.

No. What I mean is that I will take out the PS1 memory card out of the PS1 unit, then put the PS1 memory card to the PS2 unit. This will help me to play and save PS1 games with a PS2 unit. Right?

If true, then I will need to use the PS1 memory card with my PS1 game, while playing it with PS2 system and PS2 memory card with my PS2 game, right?

Thanks.

Well if that doesn't work you could always try the following.
1-place ps2 memory card in ps2 memory card slot.
2-place ps1 memory card in ps1 memory card slot.
3-Put wcIII for ps1 in the ps1 !!!

dgs_suns: You are correct. PS1 games are saved on a PS1 card, and PS2 games on a PS2 card. If you're wondering about how WC3 looks after you turn on the "Graphics Smoother", there's nothing to notice. It looks the same. The "Load Speeder Upper Thingy" does slightly speed up mission loading though.

When you start up your PS2, and the "Browser" menu pops up with that spinning circle and what-not, press Triangle. There's a driver menu that opens. On the driver your"cursor" starts at, press X, which will open up a menu aboud disc speed and texture mapping. Use "O" to chage them from Standard to "Fast" and "Smooth".
