WCII floppy help

I lost my floppy disk for the WCII Deluxe and now I can't install it :( any tips? I tryed copying the gamedat from the disk to my hard drive in C:\Wing2\ I can watch the intro if I run DOS from Windows, and run the WC2 on the disk. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, its kinda boring to explain.
 
I'm not completely sure what you mean... WC2:Deluxe is on CD... what disc did you lose?
 
Not sure, just when I try to install it says that I need to insert like Wing Commander II Disk A or something like that. I'll be more exact later.
 
Oops, forgot another detail, after I copied the Gamedat from the disk on to my hard drive, I tryed installing again and it asks if I want to overwrite the files in the Gamedat folder, I said no then it says some weird stuff and that I can't copy wc2.cfg, where is this file located? I tryed the find thingy. Wow, I'm surprised that I am saying all this weird stuff and understanding it. ;)
 
Ah, the ol' WC2 CD patching solution thingamijiggy.

If you want to play from the CD, look for a file called WINSTALL.BAT and run that, not INSTALL.EXE

If you want to play from the hard disk, copy everything into a directory and don't forget to remove the read-only attribute on all files - when copying from CDs, the R attribute remains, and will confuse the poor old game.
