WCA Aliens

Shaggy

Vice Admiral
I remember seeing a couple of aliens abord the Tiger's Claw in WCA. I haven't seen all of the episodes so I haven't picked up their names. What I was wondering is what aliens have been added to Confed service in WCA and the books.

According to Action Stations, the Confederation is made up of half a dozen races... but none of them are every explicitly stated (save for the Firekkans).

Makes you wonder how the organized the confed...since you never hear about really any other aliens besides the kilrathi and the firekkan in any really depth. That and no alien appears to hold a postion of power in civilian govt or military establishment.

No it doesn't - Confed's political organization has been established fairly well by various novels and games (single house representative democracy).

And there's the big question: are the blue people human?

My understanding is that they are supposed to be human (the funny colored ones - the different shaped people are aliens).

I was thinking more along the lines of human/alien representation. I understand that it's a democratic system, but all top jobs seem to be filled by humans.

It's a single house representative democracy... the other species certainly elect representatives based on their popularion size, just like human planets do.

All the good jobs are filled by humans because the makeup is cheaper. ;)

Maybe that’s because the multiculturalists were too busy trying to sabotage the war effort.

Well, it is the Terran Confederation. Whether or not aliens hold top positions seems rather moot, doesn't it? I mean, I highly doubt that after centuries of space exploration and interacting with half a dozen different species anybody would play the race card.

btw- the chick with the star around her eye rocked.

The shrink has an interesting history - he's Guthrig Andropolos, the son of Jedora Andropolos and the guy who writes the 'Victory Streak' timeline document. :)

Whoa! He is? That's a neat factoid, LOAF! I never knew that. Cool.

Yup, WCA press kit mentions about him being Jedora Andropolos' son. They actually call him Guthrig at one point in the show ("... the doctor who needs a doctor.").

Ah, coolness. I was wondering where you got the info from. I had assumed they referenced it in an episode or something (it's been a while since I watched WCA TV).

I highly doubt they wouldn't play the race card. After thousands of years on Earth the race card is still played. When concerning aliens I can see it having an even bigger and longer lasting effect.

I tend to think of those blue face humans as normal humans who have just grown on different worlds and hence their bodies have adapted.
