WC4 w/ Windows XP?

A newbie here looking to find a way to get WC4 to operate on WindowsXP (can't get the MS-DOS prompt running). Any help or assistance would be more than appreciated.

We need assistance, Colonel!
 
Either download DOSBOX and follow the instructions on this site to configure it or download the DOS=>Windows patch for WC4 (look in the files section) and try that one.

PS: And why are you unable to get a MS-DOS prompt running? This would indicate a problem with your Windows to me that might have deeper consequences.
