WC4 help.....

hi all, i was just wondering if it is ever possible to carry on with confed after the border worlds attack the lexington? ALso there is a part in the manual on the front cover where "miner" appears to be going down, does this indicate you can stay on with confed for longer? :confused:

Also i have a problem wiv my wing commander prophecy game, apparently it works fine on xp, but the movie parts of the game always skip.

In Wing Commander IV you have to defect after you are asked to join a second time. If you still refuse that second time around, then Border World bombers come and destroy the Lexington everytime. As for Prophecy, check the tech support area. It has ways to try to fix that and in the download section they have a patch that might work for you (personally I can't play Prophecy with the patch... but some can and it did help the video problem, though).

even with all the rumors floatin about on being able to stay... you can't :( as much fun as it sounds no matter what you do you gotta defect or else you'll end up fighting infinite waves of decloaking avengers. if i recall correctly
 
It really stinks, you should be able to stay w/ Confed if you want to... though I really hate flying the Hellcat and the Longbow in that game... they suck! I prefer the BWS ships, much more versatile in WC4, and actually if you say u dont wanna defect, the moment you destroy the Intrepid, the Lexington will also go up automatically. Trust me, Ive tried to defend the Lexington at any turn. Never worked, I even leeched it then requested landing clearance after I've defected.
 
Agreed, the BW ships are definatly better. I think the dragon is excellent but there is one slight flaw, the gun power runs out after just a couple of shots, but never the less they are extremely effective
 
Well, the confed ships you fly on WCIV are not the top confed ships. The Excalibur outperforms any BW fighters. And the arrow is pretty much as good as the Banshee. So it's not like the BW have better ships than confed.
 
Yeah thats true, but you dont get to fly those... or the new Bearcats w/ 4 Tachyon guns... I thought when they defected or got picked stolen youd get to fly them... As for the Dragon, the other set back is a small part in the story line where the people on Telamon dont believe you there to help. As for weapons drain... I dont really use the Plasma gun, its tough, but the range sux. I use the Fission cannon on cap ships, I love that gun.

There is a addon campain that lets you continue the confed path with Tolwyn and BL, but I never got it work.

You can fly them but there are few times when you cant select them when by normal reason you should. Btw is it me or is plasma weaker and has shorther range then tachyon.

Ok wtf use a gun thats weaker and uses more energy when you have better ones?
 
In order to be able to use the Bearcat you have to go to Speradon and do the mission where you leech them while they are being tested.

Confederate warrior is a mission i made ising HCL's editor for WC4. I'm planing to make this a campaign with a "What if?" story in which you never defect to Border Worlds. In order to install this,put the iff file in your data directory and the wc4 and wsg file in your directory where the game is. Then,simply use the update.exe program to patch it all to your tre files. Run the game,load your first savegame and enjoy! DISCLAIMER:THIS MISSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS". Okay, I don't guarentee this will work, but it's worth a shot. This is Alternate Universe 1: Battle at Silenos. I'll also try to make the
battle between the Intrepid and the Vesuvius.
I(of course) have to thank HC1 for making Arena 1.3, which I used in the making
of this mission, and for helping me out with all of the technical problems I've
had getting Arena and these missions to work. I'm also going to thank Josip
Nad for giving me the idea to make battles with Blair on Confed's side the
while time, like in the Confederate Warrior series.

To install this mission, unzip 00000.wsg and data.wc4 to the Wc4 directory.
Unzip missb1.iff to C:\Data\Missions. Read the briefing for the mission, and
go for it!

They are however FAN MADE addons, not OSI releases. LOAF is talking about official addons, there never was one for wc4 and there is no way to continue with confed in wc4, You MUST defect.

Yes, my bad, guess I should have clarified that out they are fan made campaigns. Just a question has anybody gotten them to work because it does not work for me so far.
 
As far as I go I am fully aware that you always had been talking about fan made addons. I am just not aware that such exist either. Its the first time I hear about ANY Wc4 missions.
 
Well I was searching for some mod that would let me fly bearcat in confed campain and found the fan made campain instead. BTW CIC main page go to fan made missions look for WCIV and there they are. What I really would like is a ship editor similar to WCP one that would show ship & gun stats and lets you add/swap ships. As far as Warrior campain goes it changed my first savegames name and started from start, but later I still could not get the campain to go on.
 
I remember finding them a few years ago and downloading htem. I never got them to work. maybe we can email the creator and ask him for help.
