WC4 DVD interactive work without DXR2!!!!

Dear All:

I just make my WC4 DVD interactive work without Creative DXR2
card! But I still need some idea to make it perfect!

Here we go:
1.)Tested work under Win98se,WinMe
2.)Work only WinDVD2000 ver2.x , but not work WinDVD 3.0 or PowerDVD
3.)Go into your system.ini, to the mci section, and add:
wc4=c:\windows\system\mcicinem
.drv

Then, go into your win.ini to the mci extensions area and add:
vob=wc4
4.)Done!

However, when the game playback "Jump Cutscene" it'll back out
when the second plackback & the game still work.... Also when character move from one place to the others, movie haven't got
sound. Final, DVD plackback very good & awesome. But my Cambridge Desktop Theater can't use SPDIF for digital AC3 decode. Sound just placyback by normal Analog mode.

I really hope the above information can help someone stuck without creative DXR2 card & would like to play this game. I don't
think is wisely to spend money grab an old DXR2 card for only one game.
please kindly reply or post my idea to fix the BUGS I mention in above!

Raymond:)

The one sided DVD is just the same low quality cutscenes from the 6-CD version of the game.. just all on one disc. It'll work on practically any machine.

The two sided DVD has the high quality MPEG-4 cutscenes and needs a suitable decoder card and/or software. The original post was talking about getting the two sided DVD working.

MCICENEM.DRV is _NOT_ a part of WinDVD2000, at least not for my version...
AFAIK it actually belongs to Cinemaware DVD IIRC.
The MCI driver of WinDVD is calle IPIsomething.drv IIRC.
Maybe it was changed for later versions (I probably got 2000v1.0)
Are you sure it is WinDVD that placed that file on your PC?

Also what you mean with
"it'll back out when the second plackback & the game still work...."?

Either quit using Windows 2000 or if you're running Windows XP, set the game to use Windows 95 compatibility mode. Those are the only two real operating systems which will give that VirtualProtect message.
