wc3 sound is stuttering

im just starting playing wc3 on dosbox. i made a cd image of the first disk and am playing off of that. the sound in the videos stutters and skips about every second or so. is there a fix for this? im running it in vista. could it have to do with hardware acceleration in vista?

Whats the spec of your pc, as i recall you need a monster to run wc3 in dosbox!

really? i have a good pc.

2 gigs of ram
intel core duo 2.6 ghz
nvidia geforce 8800 gt
vista home

IT has nothing to do with your system specs or vista. What are your dosbox settings? If you have core set to auto try switching to dynamic core and something in the 50000 to 70000 range for cycles.

You need to open the dosbox.conf file in a text editor. It should be in the directory where you installed dosbox.

i got into the dosbox config file. but it doesnt let me save it after i make the changes. its something about the path name or something. i used notepad as the editor.

Are you trying to edit it while dosbox is running? THat would do it.
