WC3 Annoying Joystick Glitch

I got Kilrathi Saga recently (Yay for me!) and am playing WC3. But for some reason, if I lightly tap my joystick down, to point my ship up, it goes down. If I pull it down farther, it goes down the right way. Sometimes it doesn't do that, though. I have a Sidewinder 3D Pro, and am running WinXP on a 1.53GHz Athlon.
 
It won't let me calibrate it. When I hit calibrate in the options menu, it just dumps me back at the options menu. As I said, it goes away occasionally. Also, calibration wouldn't do very good, as it's a digital joystick, auto-calibrating.
