WC2 (Kilrathi Saga) speed issues

The rendered animations (cut scenes and what not) all play too fast (way too fast) and the in flight portion of the game is actually a bit too slow.

Has anyone encountered this before? Any known fix? I'm running on XP Pro and just installed WC2 (from KS).

I tried using Win98 Compatibility mode on the WC2.exe file and it seemed to actually screw the sound up for some reason. :/
 
I've found that the Kilrathi Saga port of Wing Commander 2 isn't quite as tight as the original is. If it really bugs you, there's always the original to be picked up extremely cheaply. I play the original when I want action, and the Kilrathi Saga when I want to hear all the purty music.
