WC1 Capship Weapons

Did the capital ships of WC1 have any heavy duty cannons designed to engage other capships, like the WC2 anti-matter cannon or phase transist cannon?

Let's see... There are the big anti-capship laser batteries, torp tubes, there are anti-matter guns around at the time, plasma guns... uh... there are more, it's late and I can't think of them all... I can complete the list tommorow :)

What kind of anti-capship weapons did WC1 ships like the Bengal-class carrier, Gettysburg-class cruiser, and Exeter class destroyer possess to wield against opposing capital ships?

Torpedoes. Definitely torpedoes. :D

Probably antimatter warheads typed, you know... the one those bombers carry.

:D

What else, hmm?

Maybe... hmmm... missile turrets.

Like in that 'Give em a broadside, Mr Gerald!' scene...

The Claw carried at least 8 laser batteries, according to the Confed Handbook it carried also 40 torpedo tubes.

Though the Claw wasn't meant to defend itself solely by its guns, unlike say, the Exeters with their 'Classified' weaponry.

Still, like others have noted, we have large capship missiles, laser turrets, neutron guns, and (of course) the fighter escorts. The Phase Transit Cannon was not in place till WC2 (since the Kilrathi version of the graviton weapon which was turned into the PTC was not meant as an anti-capship weapon).

Yes, the Aramda manual calls it a Proton Accelerator but in the SNES version of SM, I think it's called a graviton weapon or sth.

According to the WC1: SM2 script, the Intel blokes determined that the gun that the Sivar had would take too long to arm and prep to fire to use on spaceborne targets.
