I'm wondering why nobody has posted this yet:

"Giga Games" did a preview of WC: Privateer Remake in their show (22:00 to 24:00, CET). Anyone recorded it? - I saw Band of Brother's and only noticed it during the adds :(

Anyway, here is a link to the article:

It's in German.

P.S.: NO April Fool :p

And here's the text of the article in English:
Retro Games enjoy a great surge in populartity. It may be hard to believe, but even out of the old "Wing Commander Universe", a remake has arisen. "Privateer" has seen a new edition and is available for download.

A lot of love and work has been poured into the ambitious "Wing Commander Privateer Remake". Reason enough to pay a closer look to the project. It is a remake of the classic "Origin/Electronic Arts" game from 1993. "Wing Commander Privateer" is a spin-off of the original. But additionally to the space fights and trading, more freedom is allowed to the player.

"Wing Commander" is a very good mix of space shooter and trading simulation, and was a big success in its time because of outstanding graphics, and balanced as well as very thoroughly plotted gameplay.

The Remake runs on any Windows or Linux system. The file is almost a 180 MB - but spawns memories in every former old space pirate.

If you want to live through the old times again, you should fire up your download manager and get a copy of the "Wing Commander Privateer Remake".

Finally, we also want to cast a look at another project from the realm of virtual entertainment: The inofficial "Freelancer" Add-on "Return to Earth". We present you the first trailer, showing you quite a bit of in-game action. You can get the trailer in our DOWNLOAD area.

If you want to know more about "Wing Commander Privateer" or the "Freelancer" Add-on "Return to Earth", please go to RELATED LINKS; you'll find more there.

Actually, even the German is pretty bad - sounds like sloppily translated from another language. Also, the heavy use of quotation marks is somewhat strange.
Doesn't get better in English, but hey - even bad publicity is good publicity.
