WAV files

Salutations,

How can the games .wav files be listened to "outside" of the game.

The media player won't or can't play them. I have another program called WavePad that can't either.

Thanks. :)

What games'? There are a ton of different WC games out there...

Kilrathi Saga uses wav files. He's more likely using the term "wav files" to refer to in-game sounds. He might have extracted them from a game and have them in a specific format. We'll need more information on what he's trying to do anyhow.

.wav

Salutations,

The files are listed with a .wav suffix.

What difference does it make about what particular game? They are shown as wave sound files. Yet they won't play as normal wave files.

They are in a Privateer Remake mod.

This is *exactly* why we need to know which game. Priv remake isnt an official WC game. It is a fan effort and as such a lot of people will not be familiar with which bitrate and frequency they encoded the files as. Not all wav files are created equal.. It's a lot like how *.avi files could be any number of different codecs. (for example Divx and windows media 9 codecs can both be encoded into AVI files). Best to follow Lt.Deaths suggestion and ask the People in charge of the remake: http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/forums/
