Transferring character from WC1 to WC2 in KS version

Hi all. I am just starting WC2 and in transferring the personnel records over, my only choices are a DOS file or the file from WC1 prior to the secret missions. I can't seem to transfer over my Lt. Col rank or over 300 kills. I have to settle for Major, and 113 kills. Is there a work-around for this? I have DOS and KS versions. Thanks.
 
The character you want to transfer has to be on the final series of either Wing Commander, Thor's Hammer, or Crusade.
 
I don't know if that's only because it's KS, but I'm sure you can transfer a savegame from any WC mission to WC2.

Anyway, the SM2 savegame is CRUSADE.WLD. I'm don't know how the KS transfer works, though...
 
Unfortunately, there is no crusade.wld file in my WC1/gamedat file in KS version, ands an old crusade.wld file in a DOS install will not transfer to WC2 - I get something to the effect of there being no file found to transfer.
