The Lance Henriksen “PLAY B3YOND” commercials!

I was watching "smarter"...
That commercial is really damn stupid. People don't care for sub-cores. People care about good games and having fun.

The PS3 might be a great gaming console, but that commercial doesn't communicate that.

OTOH, Wii's commercials do a pretty good job of telling people WHY would they WANT to have one at their homes. because older folks and kids and harcore gamers all can have fun with it. No matter how many Xilitrons it has inside.
 
Maybe they figured they should let people know why the system will cost them two paychecks.
 
YEah... they'll learn that the CELL processor is made inside Rubik's cubes and that it TRANSFORMS INTO A CITY.

And it also makes rain. And snowflakes.

Maybe they should send a few to places experiencing droughts.
 
It's not targeted to the same demographic. But all this talk about the size of data sounds a bit like how big the ships of FS2 are. That doesn't mean the games will be good.
 
Yeah, those ads are pretty awful. Still, maybe there is indeed a demographic out there that cares about how many billion calculations per second your console makes.

This Nintendo Wii ad is a great response to the PS3.

but it's really funny :)

Probably an arm and a leg with that too. PS3 isn't attractive until a year or two from now when the bugs have been ironed out and large selection of games is available.

Otherwise that spoof commercial is funny.

Completely agree. Hopefully within two years it will shed a couple hundred bucks as well.
