Didn't the old WCs have a bucket of water directly below a leak in the ceiling in one of th scenes?

Yeh. in the barracks in WC1 there is a bucket collecting dripping water... i never understood where the water is dripping from in a space craft and why the hell a broken pipe wasn't fixed among loads of electrical equipment. and what if the ships was attacked and that bucket fell over and drenched the deck... sorry... that bucket's been nagging at me for ages... i'll shut up now

I would assume that a space-craft where water could be spilled out of a glass or a fighter could be dripping fluids would have a hull and wiring that wouldn't be destroyed by liquids.

I can believe the bucket collecting water, actually. Remember, they're in the midst of a rather noticeable war, and minor maintenance like that can (and does, at times) take a back seat. As for where it came from, ever hear of indoor plumbing?

Seriously, there are plenty of sources of water, from plumbing, to coolant, to potable water, and even condensation from the atmosphere on a cold spot that the insulation has worn off of for various reasons, that drips down into the barracks.

While I'm sure the ways of plugging leaks has improved over the years, we are talking about a warship in a warzone. Sh*t happens. Anyhow, if you'll remember from the movie and Pilgrim Stars/Truth, the Claw wasn't exactly given the velvet glove treatment by the various forces thrown against it, and there wasn't much in the way of time for repairs. Minor things like a drip don't take precedence over, say, cracks in the pressure hull.

I have to go with WC3. I have II, III, Prophecy and Privateer. Privateer is sweet, but I am excluding it because it isn't strictly in the WC series. I haven't been able to get a copy of WCIV. I have been trying for quite a while. Prophecy is fun, and it is the one that got me hooked, but I think the story could have been fleshed out a bit more. Overall, I loved WC3.

Even bubblegum will do, if the leak is small...

Either WC1 or P1. I loved the raptor. I remember when I was a little kid, I would get up every morning just to try to beat that escort that Drayman mission in Enyo sector. I spent hours beating enyo. When did WC1 come out, I want to figure out how old I was then. P1 was fun too, b/c of the money and sometimes not being able to repair you ship. I also think the WC1 music ruled.

Didn't W.C.I come out in 1990? And if it did 10 years strong (Almost) and still holding on.

I liked WC3 for the story line, but WC1 I thought was the best for gameplay. The primitive engine itself made it more fun (for me at least) because you could pull such manuevers as autoslides just by hitting the afterburners and turning hard. Because it didn't have 3D technology I thought it made the flying more fun and thus the gameplay as well.

Peace cannot be kept by force, it must be achieved through understanding.

I always thought WC 2 was far superior to all the others. It had a great plot, really cool looking Kilrathi, excellent actors (

), and of course great gameplay. Remember all those thrilling torpedo runs?

IMO the torp runs in WC2, were the hardest in the series. That's what also made them the coolest.

Earthworm: Indeed, they were tough. Although I must point out that I've never completed a torp run in Armada (but then, I only tried once, and in a Gladius). Anyway, what made them so tough was the flak, which gradually reduced your shields. Even with the Broadsword, by the time you'd delivered your playload your shields barely lasted long enough to get out of range again (and frequently, they didn't last even that long). Not to mention everybody's favourite AMG's...

I found that when roling from side to side, the Flak won't hit you as often as it does when just flying straight.

WC IV defently...Prophecy was good but I'm just not comfortable witht he idea of flying as someone other that Blair. WC IV was good because I love Mallcom MacDowel and he was such a good counterpart to Mark Hamell

Call me a Pleb, you die!!! Got it fly boy?!?
Well do ya!?! Well punk!?! Because you know maybe, just maybe, when I'm flyin on your wing...my auto track could just mistake you for the Roach you are...got that...Ace!?! Sure you do...wouldn't want to get that nice squad jacket all mussed up now would we..?

So I gues you didn't enjoy Privateer series, Armada or Academy to much. I like playing as Blair, but I don't mind playing someone else. But I don't want to be Casey! Lev Arris, now he's a cool character.

I think Casey has a lot of promise. At least as much as that BlueHair numbskull in WC1.

Too true, Frosty. I still don't understand why people seem to insist on hating him so much. All Bluehair ever said was "Yes sir", "No sir", "Thank you sir", and so on. He only started getting a personality (and a vague one at that) in SM 1. It was only after the loss of the 'Claw that we see Blair get a real personality.
...And here we have Casey, who has a personality even in his first appearance, who actually talks to others, and people say he's hopeless. How sad.

Nah, it was too easy. Come to a halt behind the ship's engines and fire away. They shouldn't have gotten rid of the flak cannons. I know it wasn't a game engine thing - after all, they had flak in Armada.
