Another pointless topic about Spirit, well, maybe. One of the reasons I like her so much is because she, and pretty much all the other Wing Commander characters, don't resort to sex tactics to get over. Who was the last female character you can remember who did that?
 
Saying generally that every female character is deviant and uses sex to get her way is just about the worst thing I've ever heard a CZer say. That statement is so incredibly wrong I'm not even going to go any further. Engage brain before putting tongue in motion, words for you to remember...

What the heck did Cobra ever do that was deviant? Except get gutted by Rollins?
 
I think he was saying that generally in cinema women are portrayed as needing to use sexuality to take advantage of situations. I'm sure I agree with that, but I can understand where he got the idea.

Bingo. I have nothing against it most of the time, but for a female lead or for an important female video game character to not resort to having to do that, especially in this day and age, that's big in my book.
 
Sorry but I meant to say that I'm *not* sure I agree with it. Didn't double check my post but I noticed it when he quoted me. Just wanted to clear that up.

I can't believe you're forgetting Panther, Sosa and even the Intrepid's helmsman. :( But I guess that's only 'cause Blair isn't 'supposed' to have a girlfriend in WC4. But Shadow was a good pick, pity she bought it.

And Phil, pay no attention to Ghost if he bothers you.

Thanks. To paraphrase what I say about Thrakhath, what gives Ghost the idea that harassing others makes him a badass? To me it only makes him look like an asshole, and if he keeps it up I'll simply ignore him. But if people want me to play the game that way I'll play, but it's sound advice to pay him no heed, and I'll follow it as much as I can.
