Search feature...

My keyboard has a lot of cool buttons, like 'WWW', 'Calculator', 'Xfer' (what the f**k does that do?), 'Some button with two windows above it that does the same as ALT-TAB', 'Close', 'rewind/play/ff/stop' buttons, 'Menu', 'Eject', 'Mute' and 'Volume'. Oh yeah, and a button for standby with a... coffeecup symbol.
The only buttons that work though are the WWW and ALT-TAB equiv. button, cause I didn't install the special drivers for it cause they eat 8% processor time on a PIII 600MHz. I don't need them stupid buttons that much!!!

I'm at work and have an icky ergodynamic keyboard. It has a "Windows" button. I hate it.

At home I have a huge old IBM PS/2 keyboard that I've been using since the late 80s. It's really big and sturdy and makes loud typing noises when you hit a key. I love it.

Hey, the Windows-key is very useful, if you know your shortcuts. Most of these may only work on Win2k or newer, a lot I simply don't know what Windows version they require, just try them:
Win: opens start menu, same as CTRL-ESC
Win-Break: Opens System Control Panel applet.
Win-M: Minimises all windows
Win-Shift-M: Restores all windows
Win-D: Show desktop (also hides windows that can't be minimised)
Win-E: Open Windows Explorer
Win-L: Locks the computer (Windows XP only)
Win-F: Open Search dialog
Ctrl-Win-F: Search for computers
Win-F1: Open Windows Help
Win-R: Open Run dialog
Win-U: Open Utilities (Accessibility Tools) window

oooooooohhhhhhhhh!!! A clicky keyboard!!!! I love those!!! I need to get me another one!

Nevermind. I usually use standrad keybords. My father has an Internet keyboard on his PC. I am not really used to it.
And the old one of the Commodore 64 is just fun. It makes that much noise as well.
But the normal ones I use, have no problem with hard handling. And if it gets damaged I spend little money on a new one. I don't need that many features on it. It has to work and not more. *g*

You must have a Memorex keyborad. I have one, and all keys work, except for the 3 power keys. I don't use the features, but they are nice if you are a newbie. :)
Xfer is transfer and it's for LAN/ intranet file transfers, IMO. It seems to have no fuction in ftp programs.

That's the only kinda keyboard a person should have. Lots of typing sounds and nice, slammable keys.

Finally, people who think like me! And don't you forget the AT/XT switch on the 'under side' (dang I can't get the word. Bottom?)

It drives my colleagues nuts, when I am busy programming it goes clicketyclicketyclickety for 2 hours straight and it annoys them. :D I just love that keyboard!

They're *sturdy*, though... with the occasional minor cleaning mine has outlived a dozen newer keyboards that've passed through my house.

And they're about as big as a keyboard can get, so people will know who's key-boss.

It's a Lite-ON SK-2500 actually.
Power keys on keyboards are a bad idea. I once accidentally shut a server (not just a server, the Domain Controller) down when moving the keyboard. Ooooops...

The only good type of keyboard:
