Running Privateer2 under Windows 2000

Not long back I became nostalgic and dug out some old games, including Privateer2. I didn't expect it to work under Win2k, but I gave it a shot. Sure enough it didn't, but I think it could be made to.
The problem was that Win2k doesn't have "real" DOS, and it said it required a VESA compatable BIOS. I was wondering if anyone out there knows of any kind of patch for the game or DOS emulation program that could run it?

The next version of Dosbox, which is due to be out soon, might support Privateer 2. Keep checking the Dosbox homepage. :)
 
[I am having the same problems for PRIVATEER2 and don't know
any solutions for running it proparly under win2000.
 
Wow, you found an old thread there ^^
Anyway, try the Windows Patch for Privateer2 in the wcnews-file section. That normally should work.

P.S.: A Tip: Next time look for newer Threads about the game you need support. Might help you more ;)
