Ranger Class Carrier Gets The WC2 Treatment (January 7, 2005)

Cpl Hades

Mr. Kat
Last month Marc sent us an interesting ship design based on a Bengal/Ranger hybrid. Expanding on that theme, he has taken the next logical step and put the Ranger in the Wing Commander 2 era.
I like almost everything about this one. It looks like a big toy. That's the
same feeling I get from all the WC2 designs. I like everything EXCEPT
those three damned red dots on the engine intakes, but I've tried many
alternatives and those dots are the best of a bad lot. It actually looks
right at home with the rest of the fleet... see for yourself.

I'm not too fond of the changes there. The rounded bridge towere doesn't fit into the design,n o matter how it looks it must be edgy to fit the overall shape, and the front part of those engine fins with that attitional edge isn't too hot either.

Edgy desing on the bridge tower? maybe... Something sharp edged but still in line with the WC2 desing theme... Now THERE's a challenge. I'll try a few things, and see if I like them. thanks.

Hmm, I like it too. :) But I agree, the tower does seem too round, even for WC2 capships. At least compared to the Concordia, and since Connie and the Ranger are both carriers, maybe it's sensible to steer closer to the Concordia than the Waterloo and the Gilgamesh?
