Prophecy Flight Music!

I`ll be uploading a few WC4 inflight themes as well, today, and if anyone wants WC3 inflight midis converted to mp3s as heared through a Roland Sound Canvas, let me know.

Will the new MP3s go up on the BL.org site? I just went there and got the 4 WCP MP3s you did before - they're just from the CD1 music, right? Cos I figure on calling them Inflight1, Fighting1, Damaged1, and CapShip (which is the same for all CDs) respectively. But that's just what I call 'em.

I hereby am letting you know that I want WC3 inflight MP3's. That is all that is lacking from my collection now!

Why encode them in 44KHz if they're only 22KHz to begin with? Or have you done some tweaking, MH?

I don`t know, I guess I`m a perfectionist, I just like having my music sampled at 44.1 khz, even if it doesn`t raise the quility.

Zor, which inflight theme are you interested in? can you discribe it, or do you have a sample of it anywhere?

With some processing you can take those 22khz samples and beef them up, not 100 percent but you can improve the sound by "washing" it thru some processing. Compander processors can do some nice things to dull audio. Digital processing can also yeild some impressive results also.

Well, that's lovely. It more than doubles my DL time. :( Not to mention that I put everything to 22KHz, cos my sucky little 486 can't handle anything higher. When I get a better comp I'll have to DL the 44KHz versions again.

BTW, I believe "Blair's Abduction" is just the mission fail music on CD2. Oh, and those WC4 MP3s aren't really any better than the ones in ZIPs from CIC, are they?

I`m pretty certain the theme is from when you fly around the relay station where Blair gets "picked" up. Care to make it interesting? ;)

As for the WC4 themes, except for "Engage" these are the same files from the CIC music section, only that they`ve been "beefed" up, as RFBurns put it, to 44.1 KHz and 128 KBPS. It was a request from DH.

Zor, as I said, I can record these midis and convert them to mp3. Remember that I`m using a Roland Sound Canvas, so the output is, well, pretty darn good. :)

Not always. WC1/2 music (from KS) was originally at 22.05 KHz, but when I resampled it to 44.1, there wasn`t any significant change in quality, not that it really matters, since the sound quality was pretty good at 22.05 anyway.

Encoding the mp3s at 128 kbps, rather than 64 or 32 makes much more difference, since that has direct effect on the sound quality. You don`t have to have a good ear to notice the difference in output for that.

Been there, done that. Now that I've actually got a simple FTP program, and since my MP3s are relatively small (56kbps@22KHz), should I bother trying to upload it, or will Mad Hatter's version be better?

Last Night, the WCP Audio CD made by Zor Prime was released. Now I have to make a case for it. Wow!! I looooooove that music!!!
