Privateer..using joysitck

I found my old copy of Privateer. When i try to run the game (in dos), it asks me to calabirate my joysitck. I can't get my joystick to work in dos. So, the screen just locks up. Is there any way to bypass that screen? Or is there a way to get my joystick to work in dos? Thanks.

Since most sticks these days are digital, you probably can't get it working in DOS. You can't skip the joystick screen, but it only appears if it detects a joystick so the simplest fix would be simply to disconnect the joystick.

Thanks for the reply. I disconnected my joystick. But, it still asks for it. How do you guys play it? Do you have any problems with it? I really want to play it again.

That's odd. Perhaps there's a joystick port line in autoexec.bat?
