Hey all,

I'm trying to run P2 in Win XP and I'm having, predictably, trouble. I'm making the assumption that this is the "Win 95" version as it has the auto-run menu that pops up when you insert the CD. The installer is still seemingly a dos program, I'm not sure if that makes any kind of a difference.

Once I start the program in DOSBOX, with CD1 inserted, it asks that I insert CD 1 and doesn't seem to respond to anything.

Can you guys help me? Thanks,

Thanks very much for your help, it worked perfectly (strangely).

If you're ever in need of a graphic designer or photographer, I'm at your disposal.

Where is this patch at?

I just got my Privateer 2 in the mail today. It came from Great Britain (don't know if that really means anything) and I am just getting nowhere with installing it and it's causing my computer to lock up and all that wonderful stuff. So I'm wondering what I need to get it working in XP. Where can I find that patch and how does it work? Thank you.

Ahh, okay. I found that patch but still don't know what to do with it.

I copied all three CDs to the hard disk and then copied the contents of the Win95 upgrade into the same directory. I installed from there, and could even run after writing the whole bunch to DVD (and changing DARK.CFG as appropriate). It works fine, although there is no in-game music and occassionally throws me back to Windows after very long flights - which can be incredibly annoying.

More help

Well somehow I finally managed to install the game. Just the video is so slow it practically stands still. And after I just skip past the video, the game won't load. So are there any suggestions? I downloaded that patch and dragged into the directory of Dark and then opened it. I don't think that did anything. Can anyone help?
